Preferred Office Products was established in 1968 by Joe Dickinson Sr., and was originally known as A. B. Dick Products Company of Fort Smith. The original company primarily sold spirit duplicators, mimeographs, printing presses and related supplies.
In 1989, led by 2nd generation family owner, Joe Dickinson Jr. the name was changed to Preferred Office Products to reflect a commitment to providing businesses with quality lines of office equipment, office supplies, and furniture. That same year, Preferred Office Products expanded its operations by opening an additional office in Fayetteville to provide Northwest Arkansas with local sales and support.
In 2012 Preferred Office Products developed the Preferred Technology Group to highlight the shift and commitment into IT Services. This transition was pivotal in assisting our clients with the shift from information being managed primarily on paper to their information being managed digitally.
2017 began a new journey in Preferred’s history with third generation ownership, Alan and Kevin Dickinson, began a new era of Leadership at Preferred Office Products.
2018 marks our 50th Anniversary of helping solve our client’s information management problems. This milestone became the perfect opportunity to merge Preferred Office Products and the Preferred Technology Group into a single solution provider: Preferred Office Technologies!
